Is Your Heater Ready for the Winter? Share It’s that time of year again when those in the cooler climates begin thinking about crisp fall days and evenings, and wondering about the right time to turn on the heater. And, every year at this time, several thousand heating boilers begin a journey which will eventually take them to the ‘heating boiler graveyard,’ often caused by a low water situation. The trouble often starts with a leak, which will probably not appear dramatic. It could simply be a damp spot or puddle on the floor. If the boiler’s safety devices are working properly, the small leak will cause problems over time, which will eventually require repairs. If the safety devices are not working properly, serious problems are imminent and a failure will undoubtedly occur; it is only a matter of time and repair is often costly.
